The data controller for information collected through this website is Sino-Law Advisory Limited (CR No. 80379631), incorporated in Hong Kong SAR under the Companies Ordinance (Chapter 622), operating the Sino Law Advisory platform. Contact for data-related enquiries: [email protected].
2. What Data We Collect
When you submit a consultation request through this website, we collect the following information:
- Your full name and, if provided, company or organisation name
- Your country of residence or business
- Your email address and preferred contact method
- A brief description of your matter, including service category, urgency level, and any additional context you choose to provide
When you use the virtual assistant (chatbot), conversation content may be stored temporarily for quality and service improvement purposes. No personally identifying information is required to use the chatbot.
Standard website analytics data (page views, session duration, browser type) may be collected through anonymised analytics tools. No personally identifying information is collected through analytics.
3. How We Use Your Data
Information submitted through the consultation request form is used solely to:
- Review and respond to your enquiry
- Assess whether and how Sino Law Advisory can assist with your matter
- Communicate with you regarding your request
We do not use your contact or enquiry data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
The legal basis for processing consultation enquiry data is the performance of pre-contractual steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where applicable) and our legitimate interest in responding to professional enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, where applicable).
For Hong Kong-based users, processing is conducted in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong. For EU/EEA users, processing is conducted in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. For Mainland China users, processing is conducted in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) of the People's Republic of China.
5. Data Retention
Consultation enquiry data is retained for a period of 3 years from the date of submission, unless a formal engagement is established, in which case data retention follows the applicable professional and legal obligations.
